Old Rectory Stable - May 2011

Introduction

Old Rectory Stable provides self catered accomodation in a converted barn in the village of Carlby situated 5 miles north of the ancient stone town of Stamford in Lincolnshire. The village is off the A6121 which can be reached off the A1 through Stamford or the A151 via the A15 through Bourne if coming from the north.

  • There is a bus service to Stamford or Bourne with Delaine buses (202). From there you can transfer to buses to Peterborough. A train service runs from Stamford with trains to Peterborough, Leicester, Birmingham.
  • Taxis are available.
  • Pets are welcome. water bowls and dog beds can be provided and food by prior arrangement. A kennel is available for use. There is a designated walking area across the fields.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • There are adequate parking facilities on the drive of the Old Rectory. It is a gravel drive with easy access to the Stable.
  • There is security lighting.
  • A ramp can be made available for the step down into the garden.

Main Entrance

  • There are two entrances to the stable. A stable door leads to the kitchen and the patio entrance has french double doors.

Sitting Room

  • There is a sofa (which can convert to a small double bed), chair and TV with freeview, and internet. WiFi is available. There is also a DVD player with a few DVDs, books and games.
  • A drop leaf dining table with four chairs is available for use.
  • The floor is slate tiled.

Kitchen

  • There is a cooker, microwave, fridge(with icebox) and dishwasher.
  • Floors are slate tiled.

Bathroom

  • Slate tiled floors and walls.
  • Walk in shower with fixed and manual mixer shower heads.
  • Toilet and sink with medicine chest and illuminated mirror.

Bedroom

  • There is a double bed on the mezzanine floor approached by a curved staircase.
  • Sloped ceilings with skylight.
  • Bedside tables with reading lights and table lamps. There are drawers in the bedside units and in the divan base.
  • A small chair in the eaves.
  • Dogs are allowed on the mezzanine floor but must sleep in their own bed.

Gardens

  • All areas of the garden are open to guests.
  • There are numerous tables and chairs for use.
  • There are gravel paths and lawn areas.
